The Darkness II is a first-person shooter video game with light role-playing elements developed by Digital Extremes and published by 2K Games which was released in February 7, 2012.

Why it Rocks
- Detailed cel-shaded graphics.
- Fast paced action.
- Perform gruesome executions with an evil parasitic entity called 'The Darkness'.
- A interesting plot that involves a war between Italian mafia families.
- Unlock new abilities such as summoning black holes, suck blood from enemies, new executions, etc.
- An extra campaign titled Vendetta offers an all new experience with 4 new characters that offer a different gameplay style.
- The darkling is pretty entertaining and funny.
- Great voice acting.
Bad Qualities
- The main campaign is way too short and can be finished from 6 to 8 hours or less. It is even shorter than the first game
- Unlike the first game the cel-shaded graphics were disliked by some.
- The game´s plot, although good, lacks the original game´s charm and it´s considered weaker
- The company which made the first game was not involved with this game´s development
- A weak multiplayer mode.
Reception
The Darkness II received 'generally favorable reviews' on all platforms according to the review aggregation website Metacritic. High school story book 2 chapter 8.
