Destiny 2 Xur

Xûr is Destiny 2’s Exotic gear merchant. He appears every weekend to sell the game’s most coveted items in exchange for Legendary shards, but if you’re a casual player with limited shards to spend, it can be hard to know which of his wares is most worth your investment. That’s where we come in.

Mar 20, 2020  Xur today, March 20, means that the shopkeeper has finished one more month.Congrats to him. But let’s not get carried away. Hopefully the Destiny 2 Xur location will be in line with what he. Xur’s location in Destiny 2 is short lived mystery that is destined to be solved. Destiny 2 sees the return of Xur, the traveling merchant/servant of the Nine. Each week he brings exotic weapons.

Xûr appears every Friday at 17:00 GMT (10:00 Pacific), and will stick around until the Tuesday reset. We’ll update this guide shortly after he arrives, so if you’re reading this, you need only read on to learn where he is, and which are the best items he’s selling this week. Ever since the Forsaken expansion, Xûr’s icon no longer appears on your director, so he’s not quite as easy to track down as he used to be.

That said, his appearances in the EDZ, Titan, Nessus, Io, and The Tower have been in the same places he frequented in vanilla Destiny 2. So if you’ve been following Destiny 2 from the start, you should have no problem finding the merchant’s spots.

Xûr is back on Titan this week, in the small building under the main platform. He is selling:

Unleashed

  • The Jade Rabbit, an Exotic primary scout rifle, for 29 legendary shards
  • Hallowfire Heart, Exotic Titan chest armour, for 23 legendary shards
  • The Sixth Coyote, Exotic Hunter chest armour, for 23 legendary shards
  • Geomag Stabilizers, Exotic Warlock leg armour, for 23 legendary shards

The Jade Rabbit gives you The Fate of All Fools, which lets you chain body shots for bonus damage on your next precision shot, and return ammo to the magazine. It’s a tough weapon to make effective use of – chaining body shots means sacrificing repeated precision damage for the chance of heavier headshots. In Crucible, you’re likely to get outgunned before you can bring the kill together. The Jade Rabbit can be effective in maps that offer real opportunities for ranged battles, but those are few.

Hallowfire Heart is a Titan chest that improves the recharge rate of all your Solar abilities while Hammer of Sol is charged, so obviously, it’s for Sunbreakers who are willing to hold their Super in exchange for more grenades and melee attacks. I doubt there are many of those, since Hammer of Sol is one of the Sunbreaker’s highlights, while its grenades are lacklustre. That said, the recharge buff is significant, and can be paired with sunspots through the Siegebreaker tree (remember explosive abilities can conjure these too – it’s not just your Super) for a brief period of grenade spamming. That’s us trying quite hard to legitimise this thing, though – frankly Sunbreaker just isn’t good enough right now to make Hallowfire Heart a competitive pick, especially in PvP. Avoid unless you’re swimming in shards.

The Sixth Coyote is a bit of a weird one. Its perk, Double Dodge, is pretty self-explanatory: you get a second dodge charge. Its usefulness will vary greatly depending on your Hunter build, and an extra free reload button is certainly nice – but this Exotic can really sing if you pair it with Nightstalker’s invisibility perk. Escape opponents in PvE and break aggro in PvP, and keep that invisibility going – not a bad way to add some stealth to your game.

Geomag Stabilizers give you the Close Enough perk, which lets you top off a nearly-full Chaos Reach Super bar just by sprinting. On top of that, damaging the bad guys with Chaos Reach extends its duration. You don’t need me to tell you that additional Super uptime is a very good thing, and if you’re running a Chaos build on your Warlock, this Exotic is basically essential.

Xûr, Agent of the Nine, is a mysterious figure from Destiny 2 that supplies us with Exotic gear at the weekends. It's kind of him too, as there have been weeks where he is my only source of Exotics. You can buy his stuff for legendary shards, so make sure you have a good supply on Friday morning.

Xûr's stock changes weekly, and he always has something for each class as well as mystery engram that could contain anything, so it's still worth seeking him out if possible.

How can you find Xûr in Destiny 2?

Xûr is something of a wandering soul, and can technically show up in any of the public spaces in the game. Happily, he seems to like just a few different ones, but we are always prepared to find him wherever he is.

Xûr appears at 1 p.m. ET / 10 a.m. PT / 6 p.m. UK time on a Friday, before disappearing exactly 48 hours later on Sunday morning.

Where is this week?

This week Xûr is in the hangar at the tower. He hangs out at the back of the tower near the ships. As you enter the hangar turn left and head to the end. Just before you fall off the side look left, and you will see some stairs, head up to the top and turn right; Xûr will be at the end, waiting with some goodies.

Along with the Isochronal Engram — it gives you an exotic you don't own — for 97 legendary shards, Xûr also has:

  • The Jade Rabbit Scout Rifle
  • Mechaneer's Tricksleeves gauntlets (Hunter)
  • The Stag helmet (Warlock)
  • Ashen Wake gauntlets (Titan)

While the Jade Rabbit is an ok scout rifle, there are better ones available, so if you don't have a lot of shards, I would hold off on buying it. Disney magical world 2 puzzle frames.

I wouldn't worry about the Tricksleeves either if you are Hunter unless you love sidearms for some bizarre reason. They help with sidearms a lot, but nothing else.

Being able to drop a healing circle as a Warlock is super helpful. The Stag lets you do that with one important caveat; you have to die first. That's not as helpful for you but could be for your team.

While I love the name Ashen Wake, the exotic itself isn't very helpful. It doesn't add any damage or unique ability to your Titan; it just lets your grenades explode on impact. I wouldn't bother.

The Isochronal Engram is always a gamble of course. This week I got myself a Riskrunner submachine gun, which is exciting. I'm looking forward to chaining arc lightning all over the Vex.

Who is Xûr, Agent of the Nine?

Xûr is a mysterious vendor in Destiny 2, providing access to Exotic weapons, armor, and various consumable items, in exchange for a specific currency. While Exotic engrams are a way of securing random drops of high-value loot, Xûr provides a shortcut to particular items, provided they're being stocked.

What makes Xûr unique are his dynamic characteristics, with a brief appearance every week, in a randomized location. This means that every weekend, Xûr and his inventory will only be accessible for a limited period, in an undisclosed location within Destiny 2's world. To access his goods, you need to track down exactly where he's situated this week, although the site can usually be found pretty easily once eager players post details online.

Xûr also sports a dynamic inventory, with an ever-changing selection of goods to choose from every week. In the first Destiny, Xûr always offered a piece of Exotic gear for each class and a single Exotic weapon, and a similar offering can be acquired in Destiny 2 as well. Due to his cycling stock of goods, it's recommended dedicated players check back weekly, in case Xûr is stocking an item you're aiming to unlock.
